ZZK Records Presents Karen y Los Remedios’ New Single: “Ninfa” A mythological ballad on fragility and transformation
Karen y los Remedios present “Ninfa,” the second single from Bestiaria, their upcoming album. The track opens a gateway into the record’s conceptual universe through the mythological figure of the water nymph, beings that inhabit rivers and embody the cycles of nature, beauty and transformation.
Inspired by mythological narratives in which these presences are tied to ephemerality and disappearance, “Ninfa” gathers fragments of legends where such beings wither or fade with the arrival of night. The song turns these narratives into a reflection on impermanence, desire, and memory, like a creature existing between the human world and the landscape that surrounds it.
Built as a ballad with a trip hop sensibility, the track unfolds through subtle percussion, processed guitars, and layers of atmospheric synths that create a deep, immersive sonic space. Ana Karen’s vocal performance sits at the center of the composition, intimate and ethereal, carried by a deep bass line and a production approach that allows each texture to breathe.
“Ninfa” continues the sonic path of Karen y los Remedios, a project that has carved its own space within cumbia, downtempo, trip hop, and dream pop. The track expands this universe into a more contemplative dimension while preserving the rhythmic weight and percussive identity that define the group’s sound.
The music video was filmed on a river in Bali with a local production team in charge of cinematography. Ana Karen, vocalist and creative lead of the project, once again took an active role in shaping the visual world, translating the song’s symbolic and mythological dimension into landscape and image.
“Ninfa” serves as the entry point to Bestiaria, the new album by Karen y los Remedios, following Silencio (2023). The record emerges after a period of profound personal transformation for Ana Karen, where experiences such as motherhood, the pandemic, and an extended creative process gave form to the creatures, goddesses, and symbolic figures that inhabit its twelve tracks.
With the release of "Ninfa", Karen y Los Remedios also unveil Bestiaria and officially launch the album campaign. In Bestiaria, Karen y los Remedios build a personal mythology drawn from female figures across different cultures and traditions, exploring territories where care, desire, strength, vulnerability, and transformation coexist. The trio formed by Ana Karen, Jiony and Guillermo Berbeyer (AKA Z.A.M.P.A.) continues expanding its language through cumbia rebajada, Latin electronic music, ballad structures, and new sonic landscapes.
Like a tarot spread, the twelve tracks of Bestiaria present twelve figures that reveal different facets of a single universe. Each track functions as a portal into stories where magic, nature, and human experience exist in a constant balance between light and shadow.
“Ninfa” is out now on all digital platforms.
The album “Bestiaria" will be available on all platforms on October 9, 2026.
