AYA Records Presents El León Pardo – “Cumbia Espacial” Feat N.Hardem
"Cumbia Espacial" is the second single to be lifted from Viaje Sideral, the forthcoming album from El León Pardo.
It is said that Jupiter can be seen from the Earth pretty accurately, dancing around its nine moons, like the succession of dots that the air draws when it moves, or the grace with which the sun is refracted equally in the sea or a bubble. As a melody, “Cumbia espacial” (“Space cumbia”) is about expansion, about the meeting of opposites already set down in ancient hermeneutic principles to be born and reborn, like the Big Bang Theory: what is apparently imperceptible brings the complete origin code, a world in itself is every particle that makes up the void and its universes.
In this sense, cumbia—as a rhythm and aesthetic stance—is the form that El León Pardo chose to bring to life this track from the album. The classic kuisi percussion was recorded by León himself, as well as the bass and all the analog and digital synth effects, in coproduction with Samuel Vélez.
The lyrics and the rap is a dialogue that came later, based on the resonances created with N. Hardem during their time in the Mestizo collective (UK-Colombia). N. Hardem connects with “Cumbia Espacial” and says it’s like a scene in Miyazaki's "Howl's Moving Castle”.
Cumbia Espacial Feat N.Hardem is out now in all digital platforms.
